Lithops karasmontana ssp. laterita cv. 'blood red' x Lithops karasmontana ssp. laterita cv. 'blood red'. From seedlings grown from seeds from cross made by Francois Hoes from selected very red parents, which I believe originally were from material provided by Steven A. Hammer. Planted 03/25/07 and photographed 02/21/2010. As you can see, this is only somewhat red. Out of more than 150 seedlings, only one approached the quality of the original Hammer material, and this is not it.

Out of more than 150 seedlings, only one approached the quality of the original Hammer material, and this is it!

Lithops dorotheae, F357 ex Fritz. Grown from seed obtained from Dr. Francois Hoes, Belgium, planted 01/19/07, photographed 05/05/2013. The chlorophyll in the old leaf wall has decayed and no longer absorbs light and the old leaf appears brighter.
